Super Mario Bros. Deluxe was released on the Game Boy Color in 1999 as a remake of the original NES game Super Mario Bros. from 1985. It also included the Family Computer Disk System sequel, Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, as a hidden reward. The game was never released in Japan for the normal Game Boy Color Game Pak but only via this Nintendo Power memory cartridge.
Nintendo Power cartridges for both the Super Famicom and Game Boy were originally sold over the counter of Lawson convenience stores based in Japan. The user would bring their cartridge to a store which had a Nintendo Power copier to write their purchased game of choice.
