A nostalgic journey for DS owners
Game & Watch Collection is a limited-edition collection of three Game & Watch games for the Nintendo DS; Oil Panic, Donkey Kong and Green House.
It’s a Club Nintendo exclusive title, originally only available in Japan in 2006, and then appearing in America, Europe, and Australia 2 years later.
A sequel, Game & Watch Collection 2, was also released through the Club Nintendo service but features no Mario-related games, instead containing remakes of Parachute, Octopus, and a new game combining the two.
Classic gameplay with a DS twist
Each of the games retained the simple, yet addictive gameplay that defined Game & Watch titles. Players could enjoy the same mechanics, but now with updated graphics and the ability to use the DS’s touch controls. The collection stayed true to the originals, but with the added convenience and precision of the DS’s touchscreen.
A rare collectible for Nintendo fans
Available only through Club Nintendo in Japan, Game & Watch Collection became a sought-after collectible for Nintendo fans. The limited release made it even more special, adding to its appeal as both a tribute to Nintendo’s handheld gaming history and a piece of exclusive memorabilia.
