‘All-Plastic’ Playing Cards (#1201)

「オールプラスチック」トランプ (#1201)

Release: Circa 1980s
Product code: 1201

Manufacturer: Nintendo Playing Card Co., Ltd.

Nintendo has produced washable, ‘all-plastic’ western-style playing cards (known as ‘NAP’) since the 1950s, and still continues to do so to this day.

This set numbered 1201 features a distinctive ornate pattern on the reverse, and although similar designs are common, this exact design features in Nintendo’s 1983 catalogue, with a recommended retail price of 1200 yen – the higher price range for premium NAP cards. Combined with the metal case, the owner would have wanted to make a statement with this set!
